Besides the juniper, the distiller’s aim with this Gin was to only use Tasmanian native botanicals. He discovered native berries, leaves and seeds, however they could only be wild harvested, which meant they could not get enough quantity to make it practical enough for an ongoing production. Ryan has still been able to use some Tasmanian native botanicals, and he has now has broadened the list to only Australian native botanicals (plus the Juniper). Using only 6 Native Australian botanicals, with 3 of them never used before in any other Gin, this Gin is a masterpiece. All botanicals are vapor infused (as opposed to steeped), giving the Gin a much more delicate and subtle bouquet. There will be delicate petal and citrus aromas with a hint of freshly cut hay. Fun fact : the base of this gin is distilled sheep’s whey from Ryan’s family cheese making business: this gives this gin a beautiful saddle creaminess.
For the best G&T experience, we’ll include in the pack two bottles of Long-Rays Tonic (low in sugar and made locally from native Australian ingredients), as well as three carefully selected garnishes to really highlight the flavor notes of this tasty gin: pink grapefruit, dehydrated rose petals and lime slices.
